About Me

I grew up a Navy brat, served a little time in the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and married the Air Force (14 years).  So moving around the country (and occassionally overseas) is nothing new for me.  Currently my husband is assigned to Patrick Air Force Base in Melbourne, FL and we've been here since 2009.

Right now I am a homeschool mom to my 13 year daughter Helen and my 12 year son Anthony.  I love being home with them.

I started photography back in 1992 while in high school in Italy.  My grandmother had been an avid shutterbug and when she passed away I received her camera (a Ricoh SLR).  The school I attended had a fully stocked dark room and I decided to learn how to use the gear I'd been given.  However, the reality of a being a poor college student quickly set in.  I put things on photography on the back bunner and life moved forward.

Long story short, in 2009 my husband was transferred to Patrick AFB in Melbourne, Florida and my teaching creditials did not transfer to Florida (I had worked as an elementary school teacher) and Brevard Public Schools was on a hiring freeze.  I found myself with lots of time on my hands, so I thought it would be the perfect time to get back into photography.

Since I bought my first dSLR in 2009 I have been actively involved in learning the art of photography.  I have been involved with the Brevard Camera Club and a few Model Meetup groups to better develope my skills.
